Corn on the Cob


Preparation Time: 5-10 minutes
Cooking Time: 6-8 minutes


  • Four fresh ears corn, husks removed

Marinade 1

  • One tablespoon olive oil
  • One tablespoon light soy sauce
  • teaspoon Asian sesame oil
  • One clove garlic, crushed

Marinade 2

  • One teaspoon fish sauce
  • One tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • teaspoon Asian sesame oil
  • One clove garlic, crushed
  • One teaspoon grated lemon or Szechwan pepper
  • Two tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped


  1. You may try one of these two marinades to give corn on the cob a different flavour.
  2. Mix marinade ingredients in a shallow dish and pour over corn.
  3. Refrigerate for several hours overnight, turning corn occasionally.
  4. Using a parchment paper, wrap each cob twisting the ends to seal.
  5. In a covered steamer, cook for 6-8 minutes over rapidly simmering water.
